Mid Weight Designer
Multi-award-winning publisher SPCK has a fantastic role for a mid-weight creative Designer to join our Art Department.
You will have a standout portfolio, a passion for innovative design and a love of books, combined with an eye for detail and excellent typographic skills. You will be joining a small team of designers to create industry-leading books, from children’s picture books and reference titles to trade biographies and history books, theology titles and Bibles. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your talent and creativity across a wide range of genres working on both four-colour books and covers.
You will have at least 2–3 years’ experience, a design degree or similar, excellent communication and organisational skills, be calm and efficient working to tight deadlines and be competent using Adobe Creative Suite.

Head of Licensing
This is such an exciting time at SPCK as we are expanding the Rights department. You will be responsible for running SPCK’s Licensing function within the Rights Department. You will undertake and supervise maximizing licensing sales across all SPCK Group books and hitting agreed annual revenue and profit targets. You will be responsible for the whole function which is the sale of subsidiary rights including English language and translation rights to publishers around the world. You will develop sales strategies, actively seek out new customers and new business, maintain relationships with existing customers, research new markets and follow up on new right channels as well as manage one direct report.
This role demands a high level of customer contact on a daily basis predominantly by email and online call. Competence in B2B customer relationship building and an understanding of local issues in international book publishing markets is a must. There will be international travel to see customers face to face and travel to major book fairs around the world. If you have a detailed understanding of book industry vocabulary, bookselling and the rights sales process do not hesitate to apply.

Co Editions Manager
This is such an exciting time at SPCK as we are expanding the Rights department. You will be responsible for maximizing Co Edition sales across all SPCK Group books and hitting agreed annual revenue and gross profit. You will be responsible for the sale of co-editions around the world which makes a vital contribution to the Acquisition discussion. You will contribute to the discussion on sales strategies, actively seek out new customers and new business, maintain relationships with existing customers and research new markets. You will report to the Head of Co Editions.

Children’s Marketing Manager
SPCK Group is the UK’s leading Christian publisher. The merger with Lion Hudson in 2021 resulted in the UK’s leading adult Christian publisher combining forces with its leading children’s Christian publisher, creating a broad-based UK publisher that is able to compete on a global level.
You will create and deliver creative, commercially focused and strategic marketing campaigns to maximise sell-through and brand awareness of the title, titles or imprint, as required, with plans that encompass consumer & retail promotions and are delivered on time and on budget. You will create accurate and engaging presentation materials for B2B audiences for the sales team and for the rights team in a timely fashion to enable presentation of new titles in line with book industry selling cycles in the UK, USA and for other export markets.
You will have experience in executing consumer and B2B marketing campaigns, ideally within children’s publishing. You will have excellent writing skills, with the ability to adapt and edit material for different readerships. You will be energetic and enthusiastic about children’s publishing.
